AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Fire Department released its 2024 annual fire investigation report, detailing key trends, statistics and insights from the fire incidents last year.
According to the report, the Amarillo Fire Marshal’s Office responded to a total of 238 fire cases in 2024, representing an increase from previous years. Despite the rise in incidents, the total estimated financial losses decreased significantly.
The report says that the Fire Marshal’s Office investigated 55 arson cases in 2024, an increase from 2023. Clearance rates improved with 32.73% of these cases resolved through arrest, nearly doubling the previous year’s results…
