AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — One person has been arrested following an alleged kidnapping attempt that occurred Sunday at the 2500 block of S. Eastern.
According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers were called to a parking lot of a church for an aggravated kidnapping. Officials noted that a woman had been allegedly assaulted and held captive in a vehicle by her boyfriend who allegedly pulled out a gun and made threats towards her as well.
APD officials also noted that the woman tried to escape but allegedly he forcibly held her in the car while driving around Amarillo, however, the woman was eventually able to jump out of the car and told officers she was afraid of being shot as she was running.

Officers searched for the alleged suspect, 20-year-old Tyson Nguyen, and officers located him in the area of Amarillo Boulevard and Heather and he was taken into custody. Nguyen was booked into the Potter County jail under charges of “Aggravated Kidnapping” and “Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.”…
