2 arrested, including 12-year-old, after deadly north Lubbock shooting

Police on Sunday announced two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting that left one man dead and another injured Feb. 15 in north Lubbock.

The Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit obtained an arrest warrant for 20-year-old Joe Angel Martinez, according to police. TAG investigators arrested Martinez in the 2900 block of East Bates at 11:30 p.m. Friday. Martinez has been booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center, charged with murder. His bond is set at $500,000.

A 12-year-old juvenile has also been taken into custody in connection to this case. The juvenile was booked into the Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center on a charge of Theft of a Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
