Mild week ahead with cold fronts

Overnight temperatures will be milder than recent nights due to warmer air aloft and southerly winds picking up to 10-15 mph. These winds will help keep temperatures from dropping too much, with most areas staying in the low to mid-30s. Only spots with lighter winds could see temperatures dip into the upper 20s.

On Monday, a low-pressure system will develop over Eastern New Mexico. Its exact position will determine how warm the afternoon gets. If it stays further north, warm westerly winds will push temperatures higher. However, if it shifts south, cooler northerly winds could keep temperatures lower. Highs will generally be in the 70s, with Amarillo possibly ranging from 68 to 77 degrees. Overnight lows into Tuesday morning will be in the upper 30s southeast and lower 30s northwest…
