The business began in the 50s when his great-grandfather Rafael Barragán opened the first family business in Tocumbo, Michoacán, Mexico.
In the 1970s, his grandfather Refugio Solorio continued the tradition in Mexico City.
His father Javier Solorio continued the ice cream tradition in Durango, Mexico, where he began teaching his son Juan Carlos the tricks of the trade.
Now Juan Carlos Solorio is opening in Amarillo and continuing the tradition with his son.
It’s up to us here in Amarillo to continue with this beautiful tradition and for it to go to a fifth generation and that we can transcend is what we ask of God the most…
