Heavy rainfall, strong thunderstorms returning to South Texas. Here’s a timeline.

Parts of South Texas did pick up some beneficial rainfall earlier this week. However, Sunday’s totals hardly put a dent in San Antonio’s ongoing drought.

Only 0.31 inch of rain was recorded at San Antonio International Airport , the city’s official climate observation site, raising our 2025 rainfall total to a dismal 2.08 inches.

We have some good news, though. A system of low atmospheric pressure is expected to move from the eastern Pacific Ocean into northern Mexico over the next 36 hours, bringing high amounts of moisture into South Texas…
