AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Transportation’s Amarillo District released its “Know Before You Go” report on lane closures for this week.
According to TxDOT, road closures and detours expected throughout this week include:
Monday
- The eastbound I-40 exit ramp to Nelson Street will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for high-mast lighting installation.
- The left lane of southbound I-27 will be closed from the I-40 interchange to Hollywood Road for herbicide spraying operations.
- Eastbound State Loop (SL) 335, just west of Western Street, will be down to one lane due to continued project work in the area.
- In Canyon, Aztec Drive will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for culvert installation.
Tuesday
- The eastbound I-40 entrance ramp from Grand Street will be closed from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. for high-mast lighting installation.
- Eastbound State Loop (SL) 335, just west of Western Street, will be down to one lane due to continued project work in the area.
Wednesday
- The eastbound I-40 entrance ramp from Grand Street will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for high-mast lighting installation.
Thursday
- The westbound I-40 entrance ramp from Eastern Street will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for high-mast lighting installation.
Friday
- The westbound I-40 entrance ramp from Eastern Street will be closed from 8:30 to 4 p.m. for high-mast lighting installation.
Throughout the Week
- Expect various left lane closures on the I-40 frontage roads from Arthur Street to Eastern Street for high-mast lighting installation.
- Expect various right lane closures in both directions of Western Street from SL 335 to Amarillo Boulevard for crack sealing operations.
- Expect daily lane closures on SH 15 from the east side of Perryton to the west side of Booker for asphalt rehabilitation and hot mix overlay operations. The work is expected to be completed this summer. Traffic lights and a pilot car will be in designated areas to guide traffic during this time.
