We always joke that Canyon and Amarillo students have it much easier than we ever did. I know we had to walk up hills both ways in the snow to get to school and all of that. It does seem though that kids get more days off than we ever did.
I mean can we just admit that the whole process of snow days is much easier now? The parents get a text or email letting them know that school is closed. Nope, not us, that technology was not around. We couldn’t get on social media either.
We had to get up bright and early and turn on our TVs to watch and see if our school was included in the scroll at the bottom of the screen. We could do that or turn on the radio to hear if our school was mentioned in between songs during a break. Now the news is just instant…
