Good Saturday morning, everyone!
The early morning hours will see rain returning, and then mixing with, and changing over to snow. The snowfall will continue throughout the day with impactful amounts across our central, west, and southwestern counties with 3 to 6 inches. Three to six inches of snow will be common for the Amarillo area as well, while other locations could see possibly 1 to 3 inches. The snow will be melting as it hits the ground, so snow depth amounts should be less than snowfall amounts. But nonetheless, it still could be a slushy mess. Regarding temperatures, the 30’s and low 40’s will be commonplace with wind chills in the teens and 20’s due to a strong north wind of 20 to 40 mph. Bundle up, everyone!
Tomorrow should return to sunshine, light winds, and slowly warming temps. Because of the melting snow, however, highs will struggle to reach 50 or slightly warmer on the snowpack. Monday should reach the 60’s, followed by the 70’s for Tuesday and Wednesday…
