H-E-B driver Homero Flores awarded a Volvo, Hall of Fame spot after 4 million safe miles

It’s no secret that Texas has some of the most deadly highways in the nation — which makes it all the more impressive that H-E-B transportation partner Homero Flores Jr. has driven more than 4 million miles on those roads without a single accident or traffic incident, the San Antonio-based grocer said.

H-E-B honored Flores on Monday after he completed a delivery from Kingsville to Corpus Christi, officially reaching 4,000,007 accident-free miles, the company wrote in a news release .

“This is a big honor for me and my family. I truly love working for H-E-B,” Flores said. “It’s a great company to be a part of.”

Flores began working for H-E-B in 1986, and officially became a full-time truck driver in 1992 after attending school for the role. Throughout his 33-year career as a transportation partner for the Texas-based grocer, Flores has safely driven his trailer to provide support through natural disasters like Hurricane Harvey in August 2017 and Texas’ winter storm in February 2021…
