LUBBOCK — The Amarillo area had an impressive showing on the second day of the Region I-4A track meet.
After multiple athletes from the Texas Panhandle qualified for the state track meet during Friday’s slate of events, another group of competitors punched their tickets to Austin on Saturday. Day two of the regional track meet featured multiple field events, and the finals for each running event except the 3,200-meter run, which was run on Friday.
The Canyon boys won the Region I-4A team title, while the Lady Eagles placed second behind Brownwood. Wes Kirton’s squad dominated the distance races, claiming first, second and third place in the mile and two-mile runs…
