An Arkansas woman was killed in a rollover accident Thursday at 3:39am on I-40, 2.7 miles east of Shamrock in Wheeler County. The DPS reports that 56-year-old Verda Isom of Lafe, Arkansas was killed when the 2020 Ford Explorer she was riding in was traveling westbound on I-40. The vehicle left the roadway and entered the center median. The Explorer struck the concrete emergency turnaround barrier, causing it to go airborne, when it impacted the ground, the vehicle entered a side skid and rolled over. Two other people were in the Explorer, the driver 57-year-old Chesley Isom and passenger, 36-year-old Betty Godfrey were transported to Amarillo’s Northwest Texas Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
