AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT)—On Saturday at the Amarillo Civic Center Heritage Room, Beto O’Rourke spoke to the community about current federal and state issues and heard from the community as they asked questions.
According to O’Rourke, the time for action is now and not the next election cycle.
“People are concerned about cuts to the VA, cuts to public schools, cuts to the food bank, cuts to Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security. And we don’t want to wait until the next election. We want to take action now,” added O’Rourke. “So showing up at town halls like these, showing up at the school board, the city council, the County Commissioners Court, meeting, and doing it, whether you’re a Republican or a Democrat, and saying, I want to protect the people in this community.”…
