New pothole patch trucks speed up repairs and cut costs in Amarillo

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The City of Amarillo invested in three new pothole patch trucks designed to improve the way potholes are repaired in the city.

The new trucks replace traditional methods that required multiple workers, road closures and longer repair times.

Inaugural board members of West Texas A&M University’s Hill Institute unveiled

According to Alan Harder, public works director for the City of Amarillo, the new trucks allow for quicker and more efficient repairs.

“Very different from our traditional patch trucks, which required multiple employees to use,” Harder said. “They had to stop in traffic, get out, cut the old pavement, put down new asphalt, compact it and pick up any traffic control.”…
