AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Gas prices in Amarillo remain unchanged in the last week to reach an average of $2.63/gallon on Monday, according to the latest report from GasBuddy. Those prices were noted as 3.3 cents lower than a month ago and 23.5 cents lower than one year ago.
GasBuddy reported the cheapest station in Amarillo on Sunday was priced at $2.49/gallon while the most expensive was $2.81/gallon, a difference of 32 cents. The lowest price in Texas on Sunday was $2.28/gallon while the most expensive was $3.51/gallon, a difference of $1.23.
Nationally, the average price of gas remains unchanged in last week, averaging $3.13/gallon on Monday. That national average was noted as up 3.1 cents from a month ago and 43 cents lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel decreased by 3.2 cents in the last week to reach an average of $3.47/gallon.

“While the national average didn’t fall quite as far as anticipated for Memorial Day, it was still one of the most affordable since 2021— and, when adjusted for inflation, among the cheapest in nearly a decade,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “As we move into the heart of summer, I believe we’re likely to see a relatively stable stretch for gas prices as refinery maintenance wraps up. Don’t expect the national average to rise above $3.30 per gallon, nor drop much below $3 for now. While refining issues on the West Coast are beginning to ease, several factors could still influence prices in the weeks ahead—including growing uncertainty around the upcoming hurricane season.”…
