AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – The potential for severe thunderstorms will return to the region on Monday.
Most models are showing that storms will begin developing as early as 1 to 2 p.m. in the southwest, with these storms eventually covering most of the region by the evening.
The main threats expected with this event include large hail and gusty winds, but flash flooding is also possible. As of Sunday night the tornado threat is low, but it is not zero.
Although the entire area has a chance to see some of these storms, the area with the highest risk includes the central, eastern and northern portions of the region.
