One of the best parts of summer in Amarillo is all of the parks and playgrounds we have in town. A lot of my Saturday mornings during the summer are spent at the playground with my kids.
One of the most popular playgrounds in Amarillo is the one at John Ward Memorial Park, the park formerly known as Medi Park, or Medical Center Park. It’s a nice playground that constantly gets tons of visitors.
Amarillo Parks and Rec recently announced that the playground at John Ward Memorial Park (Medi Park) is going to be temporarily closed starting today (June 2). While this is definitely disappointing, it is for a very good reason.
