Amarillo firefighters on B shift had a busy afternoon June 4, responding to three separate fires across the city — including a blaze at the former Logan’s Roadhouse, a kitchen fire minutes later on Cherry Street, and a garage fire that caused major damage later that evening. No residents were injured, though one dog died. Combined damages are estimated at nearly $200,000.

Logan’s Roadhouse fire begins the shift
The first call of the day came at the start of B shift, when crews were dispatched to a fire at 8310 Interstate 40 West — the site of the former Logan’s Roadhouse. Flames were visible on the rear of the building, spreading up an exterior wall and along the roofline.
