AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — 101 Elite Men is a black male organization that works to enrich the younger generation so they may go out and enrich the world. The organization works with a number of students through its in-school partnership with Amarillo ISD.
“The presentations at the school, we want to be proactive instead of reactive. And so with going in with our mentorship program, we get the opportunity to teach them about core values, about respect, honor, control truth, control, self-accountability, creative thinking, and creative expression,” added Curtis Johnson President of 101 Elite Men. “That’s just something to have to give them tools for times when they need them within the schools, the school settings, or at home.”
Once school ends the organization continues its mentorship throughout the summer, with members of the organization voicing that mentorship is important for all the children in the area, especially the young black men.
