Amarillo Juneteenth Parade 2025 celebrates freedom and community

The annual Juneteenth Parade in Amarillo filled Hughes Street on June 21 with a vibrant display of community pride and celebration. Patrick Miller, longtime educator and Amarillo College Board of Regents member, led the 2025 parade as grand marshal, setting a joyful tone for the procession. Floats adorned with colorful banners, classic cars gleaming in the summer sun, and marching groups representing local churches, nonprofits, and youth organizations moved through neighborhoods as families cheered and children eagerly caught candy.
