Amarillo is blessed with many things. We’re lucky to have so many great restaurants, and even luckier to have a piece of history running right through our city. Route 66 is in the heart of Amarillo, and any time a new business opens up, it gives us all a great excuse to cruise part of the Mother Road.
Plus, it gives our tourist friends more options for dining.
Our Historic Route 66 is home to many antique stores, boutiques, and coffee shops, but it is also home to many great restaurants. Currently, 6th Street is home to Amarillo’s oldest restaurant, The Golden Light Cafe. It is also home to Bracero’s, The Handle Bar and Grill, Little Laos, Smokey Joe’s, and Cafe Moonwater, to name a few. Oh, and it’s also home to Old Tascosa Brewing Company.
A Historic Spot on Route 66 with a New Twist
