AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Rainbow flags, music, and messages of inclusion filled Memorial Park on Saturday as Pride on the Plains returned for its third year.
The annual event, hosted by the nonprofit Smile Big Texas, featured over 75 vendors, live entertainment, food trucks, and activities for all ages. Organizers said it’s the largest turnout since the festival began.

Despite the festive atmosphere, the event also faced a small group of protesters. One attendee responded by holding a handmade sign reading, “Jesus loves you unconditionally.”
“I just wanted everyone to know that Jesus does love you unconditionally, whether you know him or not, whether you believe in him or not, you are loved. He does not care what background you come from, what your race is,” said Amanda Utter…
