AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — As the Fourth of July approaches, pet owners are being urged to take precautions to protect their furry family members from the stress of loud noises, flashing lights, and large crowds.
Dr. Robert Ballinger, Medical Director at Palo Duro Animal Hospital, advised that anxiety medication can be beneficial for pets in distress.
“It really depends if this is a dog that’s freaking out, destructive, likely to break through the fence, probably want to talk to your vet and get something a little stronger,” said Ballinger. “Somebody that gets a bit nervous, you know, the CBDs, over-the-counter calming agents might be enough.”…
