AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Pirates of the Canyon, along with the City of Amarillo Parks and Recreation department, are hosting the 2025 Amarillo Invitational Hot Air Balloon Rally in October.
According to Pirates of the Canyon officials, the rally named “The Pirates Return” is scheduled for Oct. 24, 25, and 26. The event was created for spectators, pilots, and crews.

Officials also stated that Palo Duro Canyon is generally restricted from aircraft, which makes a unique backdrop for the balloons. The balloons are also scheduled to be flown in Amarillo from John Stiff Park on Oct. 25.
Pirates of the Canyon also noted that they are working with the Amarillo Parks and Recreation Department to host a trick or treat event with music, food trucks, and a balloon glow.
