AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Transportation’s Amarillo District released its “Know Before You Go” report on lane closures for this week.
According to TxDOT, road closures and detours expected throughout this week include:
Monday,
- The southbound I-27 entrance ramp from Rockwell Road will be closed for ramp work. The work is expected to be completed by the end of July. During this time, southbound frontage road traffic needing to access I-27 can proceed to Country Club/Buffalo Stadium Road. From there, drivers can cross the bridge, turn left on the northbound frontage road and stay right to proceed to the southbound I-27 entrance ramp (pictured map below).
- Traffic continuing on to Canyon can take the southbound US 87 entrance ramp just south of Country Club Road. Traffic needing to access northbound I-27 will cross the Country Club Road bridge and take the northbound frontage road to the next entrance ramp to northbound US 87/I-27.
- The northbound State Loop (SL) 335 main lanes at FM 1061 (Tascosa Road) will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for bridgework.
Tuesday,
- The right lane of southbound I-27 from Sundown Lane to FM 2219 (Lair Road) and the southbound exit ramp to FM 2219 will be closed for pavement operations. The work will take place overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., the following day. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, July 18.
Wednesday,
- The right lane of southbound I-27 from Sundown Lane to FM 2219 (Lair Road) and the southbound exit ramp to FM 2219 will be closed for pavement operations. The work will take place overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., the following day. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, July 18.
Thursday,
- The westbound I-40 exit ramp to Georgia Street will be closed for high-mast lighting installation.
Throughout the Week
- Expect various left lane closures on the I-40 frontage road from Ross Street to Georgia Street for high-mast lighting installation.
- Expect daily lane closures on SH 15 from the east side of Perryton to the west side of Booker for asphalt rehabilitation and hot mix overlay operations. The work is expected to be completed this summer. Traffic lights and a pilot car will be in designated areas to guide traffic during this time.
- TxDOT crews will begin road repairs on northbound SH 136 in Borger. The work will take place from the SH 207 intersection to the W. 10th Street intersection. During this time, the SH 136 intersections at 3rd Street and 10th Street will be closed to all through traffic. Drivers can expect various lane closures throughout the project limits during this time.
- Expect various single-lane closures in both directions of I-27 from the I-40 interchange to Georgia Street for sign installations.
