CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Palo Duro Canyon State Park officials stated Friday morning that all trails and Park Road 5 are currently closed due to flooding from Thursday night’s storm.
Officials stated they received 2.31 inches of rain, and for visitors to use Alternate Road 5 to get access to Fortress Cliff, Juniper/Wolfberry, and Mesquite campgrounds. The Trading Post and Visitor’s Center remain open despite the floods.
“Our goal continues to be that we start opening trails as soon as we are able to responsibly do so,” officials stated.
