AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Dairy Queen will partner on July 31 for the 41st annual “Miracle Treat Day,” during which the restaurant chain will donate $1 or more to local children’s hospitals and the Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation for every Blizzard Treat sold.
The annual fundraiser began in 1984, according to Dairy Queen, with a few DQ operators raising $30,000 during a telethon. Since then, the partnership has raised more than $180 million for children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada.

“Participating in Miracle Treat Day makes it easy to give back – simply enjoy the iconic sweet treat and help provide critical, lifesaving equipment and pediatric healthcare resources for children across Texas,” said DQ representatives. “The Miracle Treat Day annual event at participating DQ locations raises funds and awareness for 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across the U.S. and Canada.”
DQ representatives also noted the summer marks the 40th anniversary of the Blizzard, first created in 1985. The chain’s limited-edition 2025 Summer Blizzard Treat menu includes:

- S’mores Blizzard Treat
- Cotton Candy Blizzard Treat
- Confetti Cake Blizzard Treat
