AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Governor Greg Abbott will be in Amarillo on Friday to ceremonially sign legislation that bans cell phones in schools.
House Bill 1481, which was introduced by Rep. Caroline Fairly of Amarillo, requires all public schools and open-enrollment charter schools to adopt policies restricting student access to personal devices during school hours.
