Thousands of water balloons, free food and a whole lot of heart are headed to Bones Hooks Park on Saturday, Aug. 2, as the 8th annual Unity in the Community Water Bash returns to Amarillo.
The free event begins at noon Saturday at Bones Hooks Park, 2000 N. Hughes St., offering families a fun-filled afternoon before the school year begins. It also serves as the main pre-registration opportunity for the 10th annual Mary Lou Hazel Riggs Braids and Fades Backpack Giveaway, which provides students with free backpacks, braids and haircuts.
