Dasher Diary: Amarillo Dasher Shares Honest Review of DoorDash App Changes

I know I am not the only one who doesn’t like a lot of change in Amarillo. I mean, if it’s going to be a new store or restaurant, I am all in. If you are going to change the way I do things, I am not a fan.

I get used to getting things done a certain way when I am working. I have a process. The process makes it go faster and a lot smoother. So when something changes, it throws a hiccup into my plans.

Why Change Isn’t Always Better

I have to slow down and figure out the change. Sometimes it takes a minute to figure out how things are supposed to work. That happened recently in the DoorDash app. They are always making changes, but in the two years I have been delivering, this was the first major change with how it looked.

I could choose to deliver by offer and make two dollars per delivery plus tips. Or, if there is not a lock by it, I can deliver by time. That gives me a flat rate from when I accept the offer until I drop it off. I also get tips. This is the way I ususally choose to deliver.

That is not the only difference. I have to click more to find out if my acceptance rate has gone up. We have to keep it up over eighty percent to be a Platinum Dasher. I have to click more to see the address and any notes.

More Clicks, Less Clarity

It does make it easier to see how much you have made so far this week. That may be the only change I like. I don’t think it is necessarily easier. Maybe it looks nicer…
