AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — A protest named “Rage Against the Regime” is taking place today outside the Old City Hall building in downtown Amarillo.
Officials said the protest will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, aiming to confront what they call the rise of fascism and erosion of civil rights both locally and nationally.
Protesters lined up along Buchanan Street as part of the event. The gathering is intended as a show of solidarity with marginalized communities and a call for action to protect human rights. The protest is organized in part by the 50/50 group, a local advocacy network.
