AMA-CON brings pop culture celebration to Amarillo Civic Center

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Amarillo Civic Center is buzzing with excitement this weekend as AMA-CON, the city’s original pop culture convention, takes over the venue.

Fans of all ages have gathered to celebrate their favorite comics, anime, video games, and more at this two-day event, which is a highlight of Amarillo’s event calendar.

“We like to call AMA-CON, a celebration of comics, anime, gaming, sci-fi, steampunk and everything else that’s geeky and awesome. And so we’re very excited,” said Stacy Clopton, Amarillo Public Library’s coordinator of PR and programming.
