AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — The Potter County Sheriff’s Office is seeking participants for its 17th annual Citizens Academy.
The 12-week program offers an inside look at various departments, including opportunities for ride-alongs, jail tours, and visits to the shooting range. Participants will also have the option to experience being tased.
Sergeant Krishauna McKinney from the Crime Prevention unit said, “The crime scene guys are gonna show them how they fingerprint. We’re gonna bring fire in. We’re gonna bring our bat out, which is our ballistic armored vehicle. They’re gonna get to even possibly drive it. Take them to a gun range on Saturday, on a Saturday, let them shoot some of the weapons that we shoot, it’s hands-on.”…
