How Many Fires Have Hit Amarillo This Summer?

The Amarillo Fire Department sends out reports after a fire occurs in the city, and since June, they have reported at least 10 structure fires, including homes and buildings.

The 2024 Annual Fire Investigation report found that the Amarillo Fire Marshal’s Office responded to 238 cases, increasing from prior years. The AFMO investigated 55 arson cases, another increase from the previous year. In 2024, the number of fire deaths was 3, which was lower than in previous years, and injuries did increase to 24.

The Amarillo Fire Department’s mission is to protect the community by providing the highest quality of compassionate and professional services.
