Potter County Fire-Rescue reports 1 person, dog saved from Monday house fire

POTTER COUNTY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Officials with Potter County Fire-Rescue released details on a Monday night house fire on River Road, in which one person and one dog were removed from the burning building.

The department said Potter County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Potter County Fire-Rescue crews responded to reports of a house fire on River Road at around 10 p.m. Monday and found heavy fire showing from the back of the home. Two sheriff’s office responders were informed that one person was still inside the home and entered through a window to safely remove them.

The person removed from the home was transported by emergency medical personnel, according to officials, though no information was immediately available about the extent of their injuries.

Fire crews knocked down flames from outside the home before making entry to extinguish the fire inside, according to officials. While inside during search and fire suppression efforts, firefighters found a dog trapped inside the home and were able to remove it. The dog was found to be alert and unharmed…
