AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — It’s almost time to dress in groovy threads, grab friends, and dance the night away while supporting a cause that changes lives for local kids and families. Opportunity School is set to host its disco-themed LIPS 2025 event on Sept. 20 at the Arts in the Sunset Center, located at 3701 Plains Blvd.
The proceeds from the event will benefit Opportunity School.

“We provide high-quality early childhood education for low-income families right here in Amarillo,” Jill Goodrich, Opportunity School executive director, said. “This is really a chance to get the community involved in that mission. We started in 1969, and we’ve been really focused on doing what we do really well, because we know how children’s brains develop, we know what an impact that can make, especially for the children who are most vulnerable in our city. So LIPS is really our opportunity to bring the community in to have a great time, but also support a great cause.”
With the LIPS event being Opportunity School’s largest fundraiser, the proceeds will go toward general operating expenses and raising money for its scholarship fund…
