Man arrested for federal drug distribution charges

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — One man has been arrested and charged for alleged “Possession with Intent to Distribute 500 grams or more of Methamphetamine,” according to documents filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

Documents state that Drug Enforcement Administration agents, along with help from the Amarillo Police Department, arrested Chase Fain after allegedly being made aware that Fain was an alleged poly-drug trafficker. Fain was arrested by APD during a traffic stop on his Harley Davidson motorcycle for allegedly not having a motorcycle endorsement on his driver’s license.

During the arrest, according to documents, officers allegedly located three plastic baggies of a white crystalline substance, which later field-tested positive for alleged methamphetamine. Documents also state that officers located a large amount of money in Fain’s pocket and an alleged handgun in his backpack.

Documents detail that Fain is a felon and is prohibited from possessing a firearm. After his Miranda Rights were read, documents detail that he allegedly admitted in an interview that he allegedly picked up 10 pounds of methamphetamine from an alleged source in Mexico and carries around the gun because he had been allegedly shot before…
