District play carried on Friday and Saturday across the Texas Panhandle and South Plains. District 3-5A also continued. Amarillo High takes over sole possession of District 3-5A with a win at Tascosa
Amarillo High and Tascosa took center stage with the two rivals meeting for the first time in 2025 with first place on the line in District 3-5A on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Sandies didn’t flinch in this first meeting taking over sole possession in the district standings taking down the Lady Rebels in four-sets, 25-22, 25-16, 17-25, 25-14, at a jam packed THS Activity Center.
The Lady Sandies now own first place by themselves at 6-0 in the league while moving to 19-8 overall. AHS also pushes their district win streak to 58 straight dating back to 2020 and head coach Haleigh Burns was able to celebrate a special milestone Saturday getting her 300th career victory.
