CANYON, Texas (KVII) — The Canyon Fire Department is set to undergo significant improvements following the approval of an $8.85 million bond by voters.
The funds will be used to purchase a new pump truck and remodel the department’s 50-year-old fire station.
Chief Dennis Gwyn of the Canyon Fire Department highlighted the need for the upgrades, stating, “The use of the building, we have surpassed. We’re needing office space, we’re needing additional storage space for our turnout gear. As you can see, it’s lined up around the walls right now. So we’re really trying to concentrate on the health and safety aspect during the remodel.”…
