Amarillo, TX – Residents across the Texas Panhandle should prepare for a noticeable cool-down next week as a low pressure system develops over the region. According to the National Weather Service in Amarillo, the system is expected to influence local temperatures beginning Tuesday, September 23, and lasting through Thursday.
Forecasters outlined two possible scenarios. The more likely outcome, with a 70–90% chance, involves a stronger low that stalls east of Amarillo. If this occurs, cooler daytime highs in the 70s to low 80s could linger for several days. This would bring the most relief to the Panhandle, where conditions are expected to stay cooler.
