Ceta Canyon prepares for costly safety upgrades to comply with new Texas camp laws

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — Ceta Canyon in Randall County is one of 1,100 camps in the state of Texas that, if they want their license to operate in the future, must meet new safety requirements recently passed by the state of Texas that were signed into law by Gov. Greg Abbott.

“In all my years of camping in 20 years, I’ve never had to call a parent, and I never want to call a parent and say your child is at the hospital or worse,” said Jim Judd, Chief Operating Officer at Ceta Canyon.
