Amarillo’s Black Man and Woman of the Year honor service, faith and community

Two Amarillo residents known for their leadership, compassion and creativity will be honored in November as the city’s 2025 Black Man and Black Woman of the Year, continuing a tradition that celebrates service, faith and community pride.

Devlon Jones and Vonda Fields Grantham were selected by a committee of community members through Gateway to Success, a nonprofit serving Amarillo and the Dallas area. The annual event will take place Saturday, Nov. 29, at In This Moment event center, 707 S. Polk St. Admission is free and open to the public.
