Just after sunrise Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 7 a.m., Amarillo Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Deidre Parish welcomed parents and community members to coffee and conversation at the United Citizens Forum in Amarillo’s historic North Heights neighborhood. The meeting was part of the district’s new “What’s Brewing?” series, designed to strengthen communication and rebuild trust across AISD.
“We want the community to come and feel a part of what we’re doing,” Parish said. “It takes all of us to raise our children — to serve, to give, to work hard. What we do impacts them, and what they do impacts us.”
Tuesday’s gathering was the third community meeting in the series, which is organized around the feeder patterns for the district’s four high schools.
