TxDOT Amarillo ‘Know Before You Go’ report for the week of Oct. 20

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Transportation’s Amarillo District released its “Know Before You Go” report on lane closures for this week.

According to TxDOT, road closures and detours expected throughout this week include:

Monday,

  • The left lane of the northbound I-27 frontage road from Bell Street to Hillside Road will be closed for high-mast lighting installation work. The closure is expected to last until Friday, Oct. 31.
  • The shoulder of FM 1912 will be closed from SH 136 to the Tyson Foods plant for seal coat operations. The work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Tuesday,

  • The westbound lane of Spur 591 will be closed from the William P. Clements Prison Unit to State Loop (SL) 335 for patching operations.

Throughout the Week

  • Expect various ramp closures on I-40 from Whitaker Road to Soncy Road for the removal of ramp illumination poles.
  • Expect various westbound I-40 left lane closures from Whitaker Road to Soncy Road for the removal of illumination poles.
  • Expect various eastbound I-40 shoulder closures from Whitaker Road to Soncy Road for the removal of illumination poles.
  • Expect various I-40 frontage road closures from Whitaker Road to Soncy Road for the removal of illumination poles.
  • Expect various lane closures in both directions of I-27 from SW 45th Avenue to the I-40 interchange for sign placements.
  • The right lane of westbound I-40 from Pullman Road to Grand Street will be closed for patching operations.
  • The right lane of westbound I-40 at Whitaker Road will be closed for concrete repairs.
  • Expect various ramp closures at the I-40 and I-27 interchange from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for routine maintenance.
  • The right lane of eastbound I-40 from the Oldham County line to Adkisson Road will be closed for concrete repairs and edge work.
