The Amarillo Fire Department responded to a residential fire in the 1100 block of Southwest 13th Avenue at 7:09 a.m. on Saturday. First-arriving units reported smoke showing from a single-story wood-frame home with the occupants safely outside. Ladder 27 was assigned to fire attack operations and performed an exterior transitional attack before assisting with overhaul. Engine 1 conducted interior suppression, search, and ventilation efforts. Nine apparatus and a total of 32 personnel were involved in the response. Firefighters confirmed that the structure was energized by live electricity, and Xcel Energy was requested to disconnect power. The fire was brought under control by 8:40 a.m. after 90 minutes.
