For whatever reason, Amarillo, Texas, is an unexpected hub for jazz music. At one point in time, Amarillo had its very own jazz-centric nightclub. There are even two “festivals” a year, celebrating jazz.
Why Amarillo Embraces Jazz
One of them takes place in June and is appropriately named June Jazz. It’s usually a big draw, and you can find massive crowds. The other is Jazztober.
Jazztober snuck up on many of us this year. 2025 feels like it’s flown by, and keeping up with everything going on around town has been pretty tricky.
Tonight (October 21, 2025) is one of the last two nights for Jazztober. The next is on 10/28. After that, you’ll have to wait again until next year…
