As the temperatures start to cool off in Amarillo, Texas, there is something that most of us need to do before it’s too late. It’s time to start thinking about bringing your plants inside.

The Chill is Coming to the Texas Panhandle

The National Weather Service in Amarillo posted earlier today ( October 22, 2025) on social media that we have a very good chance for our highs to dip by quite a bit. There’s a chance we could see those daily highs get down into the mid-forties by next week.

If the highs are potentially going to be in the mid-forties, imagine what the lows could look like. It could get frigid at night next week.

With this cool down comes the need to protect your plants. The last thing you want to have happen is the temperature kill those flowers you’ve spent all spring and summer keeping alive.
