New ‘Amarillo Cowboy’ Sculpture to Be Unveiled at City Hall Next Week

A new bronze bust called the ‘Amarillo Cowboy’ will be permanently displayed on the third floor of Amarillo City Hall. The bust is a donation from King and Dianne Hill. The unveiling ceremony is set for 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, outside the council chambers in Room 3400. Mayor Cole Stanley thanked the donors and noted the statue’s connection to Amarillo’s cowboy history.

The artist, Jack King Hill, is King Hill’s father. He also created a bust of Comanche Chief Quanah Parker, which was donated to the city in 2022 and is on display at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport.
