Amarillo, Texas – A sharp turn toward winter arrives late Tuesday as a strong cold front sends temperatures plunging into the mid-20s by early Wednesday across the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles. The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a Freeze Watch for late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, warning of potentially damaging cold.
According to the National Weather Service, subfreezing air will grip much of the region—including Amarillo, Canyon, Dumas, Borger, Dalhart, and Guymon—between midnight and 9 a.m. Wednesday.
