Transformation Park seeks donations as it prepares for winter influx of people and pets

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — When Transformation Park opened its shelter doors this April, the cold weather had already passed. Now that temperatures are beginning to drop, staff at the shelter are preparing for an influx of visitors seeking warmth this winter.

Shelter Director James Bellar says the team is dedicated to making sure residents are taken care of during the facility’s first winter in operation.

“We know that we have to do something, and we’re reaching out,” Bellar said. “We’ve had a lot of donations of blankets. We’re actually starting to get some sleeping bags donated. Just everything we can do, we’re going to try to do.”…
